Description

Create a bespoke drum lampshade with block printing on fabric in this engaging workshop led by Lydia, a skilled fabric printer and maker from Suffolk.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Learn the art of block printing to personalise textiles.
  • Practise techniques on scrap fabric before printing a 30cm drum lampshade on cotton or linen.
  • Experiment with a variety of wooden blocks, linocut designs, and paint colours.
  • Take home a unique handmade lampshade and new creative skills.
  • Optional: Enjoy a walkthrough of David Parr House.

This workshop is open to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced printers.

Lydia, based in Orford on the Suffolk Coast, is a fabric printer, dressmaker, and microbusiness owner. Inspired by her surroundings, she creates prints featuring wildlife, coastal themes, and botanical elements.
