Learn the art of woven darning and visible mending with artist Luce Thread and breathe new life into your favourite knitted garments.
In this mindful and practical workshop, you will:
Explore woven darning techniques to repair everyday wear and tear in your knitwear.
Practise your stitches on knitted swatches to build confidence.
Learn how to approach repairs on socks, jumpers, scarves and other woollen items.
Gain an understanding of mending as a creative and restorative process.
Repair or begin to repair your own items in a supportive, hands-on setting.
Take home darning needles, yarn and the knowledge to continue your repair journey.
Please bring along any damaged wool or knitted garments you’d like to work on. All other materials will be provided, including tools and yarn for practising in class and continuing at home.
No prior experience in darning, knitting or needlework is required.
Enjoy tea, coffee, biscuits and gentle conversation as you stitch.
