I. Terms of Use, Bookings, Visits and Purchases (“Terms”)
By using this website, purchasing any tickets or goods, and/or visiting David Parr House operated by David Parr House CIO you agree to be bound by these Terms.
This website is owned and operated by David Parr House CIO. References to “we”, “us”, “you”, “our”, “the House” in these Terms and Conditions are references to the David Parr House CIO, a charity registered in England and Wales, registered charity number: 1156298.
1. Bookings
1.1 Bookings are valid only for the specific event type (“Tour”), the number of people and the date and entry time slot (where applicable) stated upon them.
1.2 Subject to these terms, bookings are non-refundable and may not be exchanged or transferred. To do so, or to alter the receipt/ticket, will render it void.
1.3 We do not issue physical or digital tickets. Once you have paid, your booking is confirmed with an order confirmation email which will include all details and a booking reference number. Please read the contents of that email carefully.
1.4 On arrival at David Parr House – your details will be on our visitor list for the day. You may wish to hold a legible printout of the order confirmation email which will include all details and a booking reference number or an electronic copy on a mobile phone or similar device, though this is not necessary.
1.5 We accept payment by debit or credit card. Your card will be charged at the point your order is accepted. David Parr House is cash-free; we regret we are unable to take cash payments on the door.
1.6 It is your responsibility to check prior to completing your order that the information you have supplied to us with regard to your order and your ticket requirements is accurate.
2. Cancellation
2.1 If a tour or event is cancelled or the House is closed on the day of your visit for any reason, you will be offered a full refund of the price of the tickets relating to that tour or event.
2.2 Our liability to you in these circumstances is limited to refunding the price you paid for the cancelled ticket(s). We are not responsible to you to any greater extent and in particular is not liable to you for any other loss that you may incur as a consequence of the cancellation or closure (including, without limitation, financial loss such as travel or other expenses or any business-related costs such as loss of profit).
3. Your visit
3.1 It is a condition of entry that you comply with our terms of entry and behaviour at all times while at David Parr House. David Parr House staff may ask you to leave for any breach of any of these terms, in which case we are unable to offer refunds of the price of your ticket(s).
3.2 Please arrive on time for your visit. We are unable to admit latecomers.
3.3 The House is an historic building, with delicate surfaces and objects. Please do not touch the surfaces and objects in the House other than staircase handrails.
3.4 Because of its age and character, the David Parr House has dim lighting, uneven floors, steep stairs and other hazards. Because of the nature of the building, its Grade II* listing and the different floor levels, there is no wheelchair access.
3.5 Stiletto heels cannot be worn in the House.
3.6 Oxygen tanks are not permitted in the house.
3.7 You must follow safety instructions from the staff at all times.
3.8 Guide dogs and hearing dogs are welcome.
3.9 Smoking or vaping is not permitted at the House or on the pavement outside the House at any time.
3.10 The use of photographic and recording equipment or mobile phones is prohibited within the David Parr House unless permission is granted.
3.11 David Parr House is a local charity and seeks to be a good neighbour. Please keep noise to a minimum while you wait for entry and when exiting, and do not block neighbouring doorways.
3.12 Children under the age of 12 are not permitted on tours of the house and children between the ages of 12 & 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
3.13 The House is a delicate and quiet environment. Visitors who appear intoxicated will be refused entry.
3.14 Food and drink is not to be consumed within the House.
3.15 We reserve the right to refuse entry.
4. Accessibility
4.1 Guide dogs and hearing dogs are welcome
4.2 Due to the nature of the building, its Grade II listing and the different floor levels, there is no wheelchair access.
4.3 Visitors must be able to evacuate the building unaided, or with the support of their designated carer.
4.4 Disabled visitors are eligible for one free carer per disabled visitor.

5. Bespoke Bookings and Events
5.1 Payment must be made by credit or debit card no less than 7 days before your visit, unless you are an establishment delivering formal education and making a booking more than 28 days in advance of your visit, in which case you have the option to pay by invoice or by cheque.
5.2 The following terms (a) to (d) apply to payments by credit or debit card:
(a) We accept payment via Mastercard, Visa and Maestro.
(b) Group bookings are confirmed at the point when 100% of the agreed cost is received and cleared by David Parr House, at least 7 days prior to the date of the Event or Tour.
(c) If payment is not made 7 days prior the date of the Event or Tour, your booking will be cancelled.
(d) If your visit is less than 7 days away, you must pay in full at the point of booking.
5.3 The following terms (a) to (c) apply to payments by invoice:
(a) Payment by invoice is only available to you if you are an establishment delivering formal education making a booking more than 28 days in advance of your visit.
(b) All invoices must be paid in full by the due date on the invoice. If payment is not received, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and you will still be charged.
5.3 Our acceptance of your booking takes place on receipt of a completed booking form with confirmed fees / cost and issuing of a Booking Confirmation via email at which point the agreement between you and us on these Terms will come into existence.
5.4 Entry will only be permitted for the number of persons indicated on your booking. Any additional persons need to be confirmed in advance and will be required to pay the agreed fee, subject to availability.
5.5 You and your group must comply with any reasonable instructions given to you by our staff or any third party (such as workshop leader) instructed on our behalf during your visit.
5.6 For safeguarding purposes, you accept that on our premises you will adhere to the following ratios regarding the minimum number of responsible adults always accompanying the group:
Under 12’s not admitted
Ages 12 to 16 – 1:10 (adult to child ratio)
Ages 16 to 18 – 1:30 (adult to child ratio)
Over 18s – 1 responsible adult per group
5.7 The following terms (a) and (b) apply to cancellations and amendments by us:
(a) We reserve the right to alter our advertised arrangements for Events and to cancel any time slot or event without notice, at our discretion.
(b) Should cancellation of an event (or any part of it) be necessary we will attempt to contact you (by email to the email address provided in your order) in advance to arrange substitute tickets. Please check your email inbox before travelling to an event to avoid an unnecessary journey should an event be cancelled. If an alternative visit date cannot be arranged, we will refund you the full price paid (plus any transaction fees if applicable) for the relevant tickets.
5.8 The following terms (a) and (b) apply to cancellations and amendments by you:
(a) You can increase the number of visitors on your ticket at any time, subject to availability and if you pay any additional sums which may be charged for the increase by credit or debit card upon changing the booking. You can do this by emailing info@davidparrhouse.org at least 72 hours prior to the booked visit.
(b) The following terms apply for other changes, including reductions in visitor numbers, date changes or cancellations:
Less than 10 days prior to your visit – no refund will be issued or change of time or date will be actioned - you will remain liable for the full value of the invoice in all circumstances. We are unable to transfer your ticket to another date or reduce the number of visitors on your ticket, and no refund will be available if your group or part of your group is no longer able to attend on the date of the relevant event.
If your visit is not due to take place for 28 days or more, you may request to change or cancel your booking by emailing info@davidparrhouse.org. Your email should include your order number and details of the change or cancellation requested. Any changes to your order are subject to availability.
5.9 If your journey is delayed on the day of the relevant booking/event, you should contact us immediately by emailing info@davidparrhouse.org. We will make every effort to accommodate any late arrivals however this cannot be guaranteed. We do not offer refunds for any missed event(s) in whole or in part if you are late.
6. COVID Terms
6.1 Please check the latest government guidelines before your visit.
6.2 Please do not attend the tour if you, or those you live with, test positive for or are displaying symptoms of COVID.
7. Responsibility for Loss or Damage Suffered by You
7.1 David Parr House CIO excludes all liability for any loss, damage to personal property or injury to visitors, howsoever caused but does not exclude liability where any death or injury is caused by the negligence of David Parr House staff or volunteers.
7.2 We will aim to resolve any complaint in accordance with our Complaints Policy (a copy of which is available on request). If you have any questions or complaints about your tickets, please contact us by telephoning by writing to us at info@davidparrhouse.org. Please include your Booking Reference – and the date, time and number of visitors.
8. Shop
8.1 Products sold at the House help raise funds for the ongoing maintenance of the David Parr House. We warrant that all goods promoted for sale at David Parr House and on this site are of satisfactory quality. Descriptions of goods on this site are not intended to be binding and are intended only to give a general description of the goods. We make no other warranties or promises about the goods, and any implied warranties are excluded. Prices of goods are as listed on this website at the time of purchase, are payable in full in pounds Sterling, and are inclusive of VAT but exclude delivery or return charges.
8.2 In compliance with relevant Consumer Protection legislation under English Law, you may return your order(s) within 7 days after you receive your goods. We will refund your purchase in full to the original credit / debit card at the time of purchase, provided that goods are returned by recorded delivery or courier, postage paid, or in person; in their original packaging; and free from use or damage.
8.3 Refunds: Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
8.4 If you make a claim for shortages or defects in the goods you must notify us within three days of receiving the goods, informing us of the nature of the defect, and providing a valid receipt. We may require you to return the goods at your cost. If you make a valid claim we may at our option make up any shortfall or replace the goods, or refund the price in full, including reasonable shopping costs, but we shall have no further liability to you. David Parr House will have no liability to you if you do not inform us as set out herein.

9.1 The materials contained on this site and on the virtual tour platforms are either the copyright of individual contributors or of the David Parr House and may be subject to other intellectual property rights.
10. Use of this website
10.1 You may not alter this website in any way or post onto or transmit to this website any material containing software viruses or files which may damage or disrupt the good working order of computer or telecommunications equipment.
10.2 The following acts are prohibited in respect of this website and on the virtual tour platforms and any of the content featured on it:
Any rental, leasing or lending of any material obtained or derived from the website;
Reproduction, including without limitation the extraction and/or storage in any retrieval system or inclusion in any other computer program or work, without the prior consent of David Parr House. If you wish to reproduce any content, you must contact us and we may charge a fee. Please contact info@davidparrhouse.org and we will advise accordingly.
Altering, transforming or building upon any content contained in this website.
All copyrights and trademark notices, marks, disclaimers and other such elements must be preserved and upheld at all times.
10.3 We have made reasonable efforts to ensure that the information on this website is up to date at the time of publication. However, we accept no responsibility for any errors, omissions or misleading statements on this website or on any sites which are accessed via links on this website. Prices and terms are subject to change.
10.4 We do not represent or warrant that this website will be available at all times. It may be offline for maintenance or any other reason, including without notice.
10.5 We exclude to the fullest extent permitted by law all representations or warranties (express or implied) with respect to the content of this site including but not limited to any warranty or representation that the server from which the site is available is free of viruses or bugs, that use of this site is secure or that you will be afforded any protection above and beyond that afforded by any standard security software you may have installed on your computer.
10.6 We exclude to the fullest extent permitted by law all liability to you and to any third party anywhere in the world for any injury, damage, direct or indirect loss, consequential or economic loss or any other loss suffered as a result of the use of or reliance upon the information contained in this website including, but not limited to, loss of data caused as a result of viruses, spyware, malicious software, Trojans, cancelbots and worms. However, we do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so.
11. Links to third-party sites
11.1 This website and the virtual tour platforms may contain links to websites operated by third parties. The operation of these websites is outside the David Parr House CIO’s control and you proceed at your own risk. We do not endorse or sponsor, and are not liable for the products, services or content you access through any linked site.
12. Data protection
12.1 We will collect, use, store and disclose your personal details in accordance with our Data & Privacy Policy.
13. General
13.1 These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and David Parr House governing the sale of tickets to Tours and events, access to the House, purchase of goods advertised on this website or sold in the House, and information provided on this website.
13.2 Each paragraph of these Terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of these Terms are unlawful, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect to the extent applicable (and construed accordingly).
13.3 These Terms are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
