Create unique blockprinted frames to display photographs of your loved ones or personal mementoes such as pressed flowers.
In this workshop, you will:
Learn beginner-friendly lino-cutting techniques to carve your own repeat-pattern stamps
Explore simple methods for creating decorative borders inspired by botanical motifs and natural forms
Hand-print your carved blocks onto frame templates to design your own block-printed piece
Assemble your framed arrangement from a selection of dried flowers or with a special photograph from home
Take home your finished frame along with the stamps you have carved, so you can continue printing
Enjoy a relaxed, creative atmosphere with refreshments and cakes provided by local independent bakery Norfolk Street Bakery
During the break, get the chance to look inside 186 Gywdir Street (optional)
Please wear old clothes as you will be working with printing ink. Aprons will be provided. You are welcome to bring in a special photograph from home to place in your frame.
After booking, you will receive an email confirmation and a pre-workshop questionnaire to fill out.
All workshop proceeds go towards paying workshop leaders, maintaining David Parr House and our artistic programme.
