An Introduction to Glass Painting with Flora Jamieson
Join stained-glass artist Flora Jamieson for an introduction to the traditional art of glass painting. Take inspiration from the stained glass at David Parr House and our collection of decorative designs by F. R. Leach & Sons, the Cambridge decorative arts firm where David Parr worked. Learn historic stained-glass painting techniques and create your own beautifully painted glass quarry, which will be kiln-fired, finished and ready to hang in your home.
In this workshop, you will:
Learn the traditional techniques of trace painting and silver staining used in historic stained glass
Discover how to work with hand-mixed pigments and specialist glass painting brushes
Design and paint your own floral motif onto a decorative glass quarry inspired by the designs of F. R. Leach & Sons
Gain an insight into the craftsmanship and history of stained-glass painting
Create a unique stained-glass panel, which Flora will kiln-fire, frame with a lead border, add hooks and wire, and post to you after the workshop, ready to hang in your home

No previous stained-glass experience required
Time to learn traditional techniques and create your own design
Lunch from local independent bakery Norfolk Street Bakery
During the lunch break, the opportunity to glimpse inside David Parr House for inspiration
Please bring an apron or wear clothes you don't mind getting messy. All other materials and equipment will be provided.
About Flora Jamieson
Flora Jamieson is a Dorset-based stained-glass artist with over 25 years' experience creating both traditional and contemporary work for clients across the UK and internationally. She is a member of the British Society of Master Glass Painters, the Crafts Council and Heritage Crafts, and was selected as a Master Artisan for the Homo Faber Guide, celebrating exceptional craftsmanship across Europe. Her work has been featured in publications including The Financial Times, Elle Decoration and Country Living, and she teaches stained glass both in person and through her popular online course, which has welcomed more than 6,000 students.
