David Parr House is in the thriving Mill Road area of Cambridge, known for its independent cafes, restaurants and shops. We are located opposite Dale’s Brewery which houses two antique shops and a cafe.
The cafe is called Hot Numbers (after a much-loved Cambridge record shop) and offers delicious coffee and cakes, all locally made, as well as breakfast, light lunches and music on weekends and some evenings.
Next door are two delightful antique shops, The Cambridge Antique Centre and The Hive, which are well worth an amble around – you never know what you will come out with once you have crossed their thresholds.
Mill Road is long and divided by the railway bridge but both sides offer a fantastic selection of independent cafes and shops.
Mill Road Cemetery, where David Parr is buried, is a short walk along Mill Road.
The Mill Road area has a rich and fascinating history. You can see a wonderful selection of old photographs and find out more about the area’s past on Capturing Cambridge, run by our friends at Mill Road History Society.
