The team at David Parr House consists of dedicated staff, over 40 volunteers, trustees, artist facilitators, and the talented makers we collaborate with in our shop.
Annabelle joined David Parr House in July 2022, bringing a wealth of experience in curating, collections management, research, and cultural leadership. After training and working as a textile designer, Annabelle developed a career in museums working with collections, exhibitions and public programmes. She specialises in contemporary craft practice and its intersection with visual arts, performance, material culture and design.
Prior to joining David Parr House, she was Associate Curator for Crafts Council, Head of Exhibitions & Collections at Crafts Council and has held curatorial posts with Museum of the Home, British Museum, Museum of Reading. She has lectured and taught widely at Kingston University, and the collaborative MA with Design Museum, Royal College of Art. She has been an external examiner for Plymouth University and sits on the Board of ArtLink & Gallery 87 in Hull. She is a Mentor for Museums Association Associate programme and was previously a Trustee for NN Contemporary in Northampton.

Bob is a cultural historian and museum educator. Bob received his BA in History from the University of Cambridge (2022), and his MA in Decorative Arts, Design History, Material Culture from Bard Graduate Center, New York City (2024). He received the Clive Wainwright Award for his MA Qualifying Paper, Drinks and Desire: Coffee Culture in Early Modern Europe, which explored the racial and gendered anxieties stimulated by the spread of coffee to Europe from the Ottoman Empire, through historical objects, poetry, opera, and contemporary art. Throughout his studies, Bob has engaged with visitor experience and gallery education, and was even a volunteer guide at David Parr House during his undergraduate. He is motivated to make museum and heritage settings accessible and engaging to as wide an audience as possible.

Holly joined the team in 2023 as an experienced digital producer and curator. Prior to joining the David Parr House team, Holly worked in digital communications for Wysing Arts Centre and Cavendish Arts Science in Cambridge. She is an experienced curator producing independent projects across Glasgow and Leeds, curating projects for Tramway, The Hunterian Museum and Gallery and Strange Field. In 2021, Holly graduated with a distinction in Curatorial Practice (Contemporary Art) from Glasgow School of Art.

Rachel French is a senior leader in cultural heritage development and looks after fundraising for David Parr House. With more than 25 years experience and a background in management consultancy and sales, she specialises in entrepreneurial approaches, seeking out innovative and interesting ways to work with donors, funders and supporters. In 2021 she helped the organisation to secure a firm financial foundation by raising a £1m endowment. Other career highlights include hosting Sir David Attenborough to celebrate the University of Cambridge Zoology Department’s 150th Anniversary, selling some of the UK's first commercial internet connections and being the first woman to work as a gardener at Anglesey Abbey.

Katy is the Director of Finance and Resources at the Society of Antiquaries of London. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2000 at KPMG and has over 11 years of finance and operations senior management experience in arts and health charities. Previous employers include Wysing Arts Centre, Sarcoma UK and Rio Tinto. She is also a practising artist, with an MA Printmaking from Cambridge School of Art and recently completed an Advanced Master of Research in Art and Design for those with socio-political practices at Sint Lucas School of Art, Antwerp.
Christina is Head of Collections Management at UCL Museums and Collections and also provides collections information advice to Sir John Soane’s Museum on a freelance basis. Previously she has worked at Crafts Council, The Wallace Collection, St Paul’s Cathedral and the V&A as well as freelance trainer for the Collections Trust and the London Museums’ Development Team. She has a particular interest in collections in non-traditional settings.
Susan has worked in Cambridge museums for over 15 years and has a keen interest in the city’s heritage and social history. She works as a freelance heritage evaluation consultant and with University of Cambridge Museums as an Evaluation and Insights Coordinator.
Mike is Chief Technology Officer and a founder of ARM Holdings plc, one of Cambridge’s largest employers. He is also a non-executive director of Intelligent Energy, which specialises in the development of modular, low-carbon fuel cell systems and a Trustee of the Centre for Computing History in Cambridge.
Mike works as Development Director for Selwyn College, Cambridge. He was formerly the Development Director of Sir John Soane’s Museum 2001-14 where he helped facilitate an ambitious expansion and £7m capital refurbishment programme. He also instigated a successful membership scheme allowing individuals to support different museum activities and projects.
Tamsin first saw the house in 2009 whilst curating an exhibition entitled ‘A Space of Our Own’ for the Museum of Cambridge. Since then, she has worked with the Parr and Leach families to conserve the house for future generations to enjoy. Tamsin entered the heritage industry through museum education and has a passion for making history accessible to all. During her career, she has developed and managed many creative and innovative events, exhibitions and community projects. She is a Trustee of AccessArt.
We collaborate with artists and makers who share the values and craftsmanship embodied by the David Parr House. We work with those who are dedicated to slow, thoughtful, and sustainable making, reflecting the artistic practices of David Parr.
Rooted in the principles of the Arts and Crafts Movement - integrity, sustainability, and respect for handmade artistry - we aim to build a vibrant community of makers whose work finds affinity with the House. Together, we celebrate artistry, craftsmanship, and innovation.
