Description

Kate Webber is a Cambridge-based ceramicist, based at KILN Cambridge. These handmade, glazed pin brooches were cast from archival, nineteenth-century paterae molds from the F. R. Leach & Sons workshop. This is a unique opportunity to wear a piece of Arts & Crafts history.

Paterae are decorative discs that can be inlaid, carved, or incised into architecture or furniture to create relief decorations. In 186 Gwydir Street, you can see small flower-shaped paterae that David Parr used to adorn the walls of his drawing room, likely reusing materials left over from a commission.
