Description

Perfect for the David Parr House theme of Letter, Word, Text, this cushion woven by Margo Selby is inspired by modernist typography, the composition of the Font design is formed of abstracted lettering.

The complex warp and weft layout has been carefully planned to form the shapes. The structure allows pure areas of warp and weft colour to create a bold graphic pattern. A technically complex jacquard cloth, Font unites graphic design with the tactile nature of woven fabric.

Large scale pattern repeats are a signature feature of Margo Selby designs, it makes our cushions unique and dynamic.

Removable Cover: 65% Viscose, 27% Cotton, 8% Polyester
Insert: Duck Feather
Care: Dry Clean Only
Size: Approx. 44cm x 34cm
Cut of the cloth: These cushion covers are cut from a fabric with a large design repeat, therefore the cushion you receive might be a different section of the pattern than the cushion shown in the image. Cushions tend to not be identical to each other, or the same on both sides.

Margo Selby Artist’s Statement:

“I use thread to create abstract geometric artworks that explore repetition and transition, symmetry and asymmetry, the dynamic and the stable. I draw influence from the visual world around me: architectural forms; graphic design; pattern, scale and colour combinations. Colour is the driving force behind my work. I enjoy the infinite effects of many subtle hues and tones that can be explored when blending from one colour to another.

I’m interested in the relationship between myself and the machine, hand and industry, craft and technology. The loom, and the disciplined nature of weaving as a practice, provides boundaries and constraints which can be tested. The orderly nature of the craft of weaving is reflected in the developing designs of the artworks. I am satisfied by rhythmic and uniform repetition – where each element of a composition is changed in a methodical progression.”
