F R Leach & Sons walking tour of Cambridge
This free self-guided walking tour located in central Cambridge is a brilliant way to see another side to Cambridge. Whether you know something about the neo-Gothic and Arts & Crafts or are a complete novice, you will get something out of this tour and it is the perfect complement to your visit to The David Parr House.
David Parr worked for Cambridge company F R Leach, a company that delivered some of the most exciting Arts & Crafts and neo-Gothic projects of the day. Many of these great decorative artworks were carried out in buildings in Cambridge, and you can now experience them for yourself through our downloadable walking tour.
Following our hand-crafted map, you will discover beautiful murals, ceilings and stained-glass windows, decorative craftsmanship show-casing George Bodley and William Morris’ visions, amongst others. When you need a break, Michaelhouse at St Michael’s Church (venue 6) has a great cafe and restaurant serving breakfast, coffee, cakes, lunch and tea.
