Being part of our volunteer team is a great way to learn more about David Parr House from the inside and be actively involved in shaping and developing its future. Our volunteers are hugely important to us, bringing a diversity of skills and helping provide excellent experiences for all our visitors. We want people to enjoy volunteering with us, feel part of the team, and have fun learning new skills and sharing expertise.
Volunteering opportunities as part of the Life and Art in a Worker’s House project include:
- Cataloguing / researching the collection
- Fundraising and marketing
- Researching Parr and Leach families and work
- Conservation cleaning of the house / collection
- Leading house tours and walking trails
- Audio and video recording
- Delivering events and workshops
We welcome expressions of interest from potential volunteers at any time. Recruitment is an ongoing rolling process. Not everyone can be matched to a suitable role as soon as they contact us, but we shall keep in touch with those who have completed and submitted our volunteer form below, as new volunteering opportunities arise. Volunteers may sign up for regular weekly activities as part of a team, with an agreed rota, or for occasional activities, such as helping at events. There are even volunteering activities you can carry out for us at home from the comfort of your own laptop!
If you’re enthusiastic about the project and would like to join us, please complete the form here.
