Join local artist Rebecca Stark to learn the art of mixed media collage. In this relaxed and fun workshop she’ll be guiding you through the process of creating your own still life picture. Maybe you have a favourite jug or pebble you’d like to include in your composition? If not, Rebecca will have a range of interesting and beautiful objects, both manmade and natural, for you to be inspired by. No experience is necessary, as you’ll be shown how to design a composition and work in several different mediums. All materials will be supplied, and Rebecca will demonstrate the techniques she uses to create her own collages, using acrylic paint, pastel, charcoal and graphite. You’d be amazed by the wonderful effect created by slicing and tearing paper, which is then layered to bring the picture to life. All will be revealed in the class but whether you’re a minimalist or a lover of rich pattern and texture, you’ll go home with a striking painting, full of depth and interest, and with the skills to carry on creating mixed media collages at home. See examples of Rebecca’s collages (sold in Cambridge Contemporary Art) on her website www.rebeccastark.co.uk
