Description

Vicki’s distinctive style of jewellery and silversmithing draws on her interest in architecture. She specialises in celebratory and commemorative pieces which capture the client’s connection of a building of significance with a special, often very personal moment, in their lives. Join us for this talk where Vicki will discuss capturing the essence and character of a building in silver and gold in a miniature scale using techniques of trickery such as trompe d’oeil and manipulation of proportion to achieve the desire effect.

About Vicki:

Vicki has exhibited widely in many prestigious galleries and museums over many years. Her work has been selected for public and private collections around the world including The V&A, Royal Scottish Museum, Crafts Council, Norwich Castle Museum, Birmingham City Art Gallery, Los Angeles Museum for Contemporary Art and Houston University Texas, and Boston Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Vicki is currently working on a book which gathers up the many projects she has created over the past 40 years and the stories of their inspiration, through the design process and their construction.  Due to be published by Unicorn Press October 2022.

The talk lasts approximately 40 minutes.
